Hi all,
The CWOW home
Last week we visited the owners of the CWOW home again and we discussed the details of the contract for renting the home. We will sign the contract end of this month, so that is good news!
The owners will move out to their new home in mid-March, so we are planning to move in our new home the end of March. They need to do a small renovation first. So now we know the exact timing, which is good! By the 1st of April we will say goodbye to Houten…
In 1988 we moved from Deventer to Houten where Wil was offered a job in Driebergen as manager of a Christian bookstore (BKV). We asked the Lord if this was His will for our lives and we both received a Rhema from Him. He spoke from Acts 7:3 to Wil (a word the Lord spoke to Abraham): “get out of your country and from your relatives, and come to a land that I will show you”. For me it was John 15:16 “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain.”
Wil indeed had to leave his relatives, because he was born and raised there, but that was not so with me.
It was so clear then for us, that we had to move and we ended up in Houten, close to Driebergen. We never thought and never had the desire to move back to where we came from, although people asked us that question several times. We knew this was the right place to be, in the centre of God’s will for our lives and that’s all that mattered.
So you can imagine that the idea to move back to that area felt strange at first. To me (Ank) is still feels a bit weird, but Wil is totally OK. The good thing is that we will be able to see Wil’s brothers and sisters more often. They all are getting older and do not know the Lord yet so we will be there for them too, trusting the Father to open their spiritual eyes and ears so they will come to know Him before they die.
Furthermore, there is nothing more for us to do here in Houten. We’ve done a Saturday Bible school for years, Aglow, housechurch, we took care of my parents who are now with the Lord and 4 of our children left the nest, so to speak, and the last one will soon follow. We are officially ‘empty-nesters’ then. Lol. The cloud has definitely moved and we are following the cloud!
Both of us have great peace about the next move and we are so looking forward to be a home base for CWOW in Europe! The best is yet to come and great times are ahead!
Isaiah 60:1,2
It says: “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.”
That is what we are seeing around us: darkness, deep darkness covering the people. People are calling evil good and good evil; confusion is all over and those who do not know the Lord don’t know anymore the difference between evil and good. BUT the Lord will arise over us and His glory will be seen upon us. We are part of His Kingdom and He knows how to take care of His own.
The Lord gave me a vision in the last conference here in the Netherlands: I saw a clear division between light and darkness. People who were in the dark were fighting with one another, a war was going on. But we, His children, were in the light, looking up to Jesus who stood in front of us as the Lord of hosts. We were totally focused on Him, praising and worshiping Him and we only looked at Him, not even looking at the darkness next to us.
There is a spiritual war going on, no doubt about that. But we have to be careful not to fight the darkness and be watchful not to give the devil any place in our lives. Stay in the light, as He is in the light. We are children of light and we should walk in the light. Be busy with what He wants you to do, follow His lead and know that the best is yet to come!
Hebrews 12:1,2 says: “…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…”
The Amplified Bible says it like this: “…looking away from all that will distract, to Jesus. If you have that version at home, read those verses, there is a lot more in it.
Well, that’s it for now.
We’ll make a trip to Lithuania beginning of November. Together with Tadas we will visit different house churches there. Remind us in your prayers.
Thanks a lot for your prayers and your gifts, very much appreciated!
Love and blessings,
Wil and Ank
